HTC subsidiary G REIGNS, radio maker MTI and Mongolian operator Mobicom switched on a live 5G standalone Open RAN network in rural Mongolia. G REIGNS supplied the CU/DU software and integration, MTI the outdoor radios. Reported results: stable coverage to roughly 7 km, over 99% connection success, and operation sustained through Mongolian winter conditions, following earlier US NTIA-funded trials.
