Profile-Compliant Hardware Virtualization
Standardised application-class ISA profiles with defined interrupt and virtualization extensions allow hypervisors to run unmodified, consolidating mixed-criticality workloads portably across vendors' boards.
Developed mainly in: China and United StatesImpacting: Rest of Asia, Europe and China
Vates developers reported that the Xen hypervisor now boots on SpacemiT's K3, described as the first RISC-V board compliant with the RVA23 profile and the only one shipping with both APLIC/IMSIC interrupt controllers and the hypervisor extension. Zheng Zhang of ISCAS reused boot-fix patches written for the HiFive Premier P550 to bring it up remotely.
